he quit smoking

About the life of the famous "smoking ban " I decided to write my experience to quit, because I think I can contribute something to those who also want to do it.
I started smoking at 12 or 13 years, and quickly got addicted, smoked more cigarettes per day, and my stop was to reach 30 per day. At that point obviously I was not mentioned by the risk of cancer, the smoke causes discomfort in others, the fatigue and cough, smelly clothes ... I reached a moment only concerned about bad breath from smoking so much, but only slightly.
But one morning in mid-2000 I woke up half drowned and exhausted me just stretch my arm to the lamp to find a cigarette lighter and ashtray. That day I was scared, and only smoked 2 cigars, not much considering my daily routine 30.
Now I have about 2 ½ years without a single puff, after 4 years and 8 attempts to quit. It was not a quick or easy, but it's something I'm proud to tell.
My first attempt I was half as only decreased to 8 the number of cigarettes per day, lasted about 4 months at this pace and then started to increase the amount. In 2001 and 2002 was more of the same: limits noticing more and more narrow, but to abstain from smoking. Of course, I never saw smoke as much as in 2000, and I think at that point already had some awareness of the detrimental effects of smoking. And here I point out something that was crucial: not much smoke less, but should eliminate vice . And that became my goal. For that I took the recommendations found on all sides, we need to prepare and choose a significant date (in my case, the new year), expected weight gain (is welcome) and finding new leisure activities. This worked pretty well for me just over 3, but one day I woke up with too much anxiety by smoking, preceded by a week of very concern in mind cigars. Finally, I went and bought a pack, with a frustration and a feeling of severe weakness for failing to keep up the will.
The good news is that just a few days later I saw a story about quitting smoking, and he mentioned a period of anxiety that could affect the 3 months of abstinence. It was a relief to blame the chemical. In the months since I smoked fairly moderate, committed to leave soon. So I spent that whole year to figure out methods, recommendations, formulas and treatments, until I decided to quit on my own, without relying on drugs or an acquaintance that would make the chaperone and wandered about taking away the cigarettes. To this end, I chose a date in advance (2004/3/1), plan some activities that occupy my first 6 months without smoking (cycling, chess and playing music with a group), I saved a little money to follow a diet that inhibits urges to smoke, I informed my friends again my decision (at that point, with my credibility on the floor).
I want to dwell on the diet to quit. While trying to resist the urge to smoke looming like eating candy, but the anxiety persists. Milk, cereals, juices, fruits and vegetables with vitamin C works well to overcome it. For contrast, coffee, alcohol and chocolate do not help, and try to calm the anxiety and treats served not cause tooth decay. In addition, it is inappropriate to spend much time without eating, so it is good idea to walk with a bottle of juice, or fruit on hand, plus breakfast with milk and cereal, to eat lunch salads and fruits, milk and the eleven others cereals, eat yogurt at night. All this while maintaining a respectable activity, whether walking more than normal, cycling, whatever.
prepared me for this time with more enthusiasm when it came three months, but radical changes in eating habits, the overload of activities and self-awareness, was a painless process. That year actually gained weight, about 6 kilos, I lost about a year later.
As of today I am very pleased to have stopped smoking. I do not tire as before, do not smell a cigar, I have no fingers or yellow teeth, I enjoy more the taste of food, saving money, not waste time in smoking (out to a patio, looking fire, go out and buy cigarettes , etc.) not contaminated with cigarette butts, and so on. The truth is that this is difficult to convince those who do not want to quit, but for those who try it can serve.
And finally, I leave these facts:
